The Collar Wars
The feeling of Chelsea’s breathing as she was pressed against my chest was, to put it simply, addictive. I always felt the tension leave my body and mind as the soothing press of fur to skin relaxed me. I would never have known the pleasure of this intoxicating feeling if it wasn’t for Drake. There was a good chance that I would have been long by dead by now if it hadn’t been for that Rottweiler. I’d either have severed myself a fast food meal of a bullet or slunk back into a bottle and drank myself into a grave. I’d probably have done both together. Carol’s death was still painful, but now the pain had eased considerably.
I got out of bed having been asleep alone in the barracks. There was nothing rushing me as I got dressed, slowly and unmotivated. That said I was going to see Chelsea tonight which is what had me thinking about her. I just needed to feel her in my arms as she slept, it was an addiction that I loved. She was a far better drug than alcohol. She was friendly, beautiful, and most importantly she gave me a reason to get through each week until I saw her again.
The Games were going to happen in a few weeks, and with my last series of bets I’d buy Chelsea and get off this rock. I already had more than enough to purchase her, that wasn’t the issue. It was a case of where to go once I had all my winnings. I had narrowed down my search to seven habitable planets on the fringe of Terran controlled space. Of the seven, four had completed the terraforming process, the other three were nearing their end dates.
I had gone through a myriad of pictures of them and found they all had one thing in common, the one essential thing that would make Chelsea happy. They all had forests. I’d buy a couple hundred hectares in the middle of nowhere, probably next to a stream or something and we’d build our home there. It didn’t have to be a massive mansion with twenty-seven bedrooms, three pools, and a garage big enough for a few dozen cars like the one I grew up in. It only needed a single bedroom, a kitchen, and a living room. It would be easy to live off the grid for the most part. Solar generators are cheap, and hydrogen fuel systems meant we’d have everything we needed. I’d get a truck of some sort, and we’d live by a stream, or maybe a spring fed pond, that would be nice. Farming would be easy enough I figured. Hydroponic farms are easy enough to set up from what I’ve read and I could learn how to raise and butcher cows and pigs for red meat. There was also no reason for my not to raise chickens, eggs and meat so they would be a good supply of protein.
There was only one thing that truly mattered though, Chelsea would never have to wear a collar again. I didn’t care who said otherwise, she’d never wear one again as long as I lived. I’d smuggle out a couple military issue weapons and I’d teach her how to defend herself incase something happened to me. She may not have the strength of a military Hybrid put she still had every reason to fight back. The one problem is that we would never be able to have kids. It wasn’t such a big deal I guessed. Hybrids are sterile so even if we were genetically compatible it would never work.
There was a knock at my office door. “Enter.”
Sergeant Drake entered carrying an envelope. “I hope I got you a good time Lewie.”
“Now is as good a time as any Drake. What do you need?”
“The unit was wondering if you would do us a favor.”
“Depends on the favor. What do you guys have in mind?”
“We were wondering if you could take this with you next time you see your girlfriend and give it to her.”
“Oh, what is it?” I was used to my boys calling Chelsea my girlfriend, it had started months ago really, probably by the third or fourth time I went to visit her specifically.
“It’s a picture of you with the entire unit. We all signed it and there is a message with it. It’s kind of personal so if you mind please don’t read it.”
It seemed like an odd request not to look at it myself but I would honor their wishes. “No problem Drake, you have my word, I won’t read it.”
“Thank you sir.”
“By the way you’re right as usual about me going to see Chelsea tonight.”
Drake smiled as well as his muzzle allowed for. “Lewie, I’ve been your Sergeant long enough to know you tend to have set patterns for certain things. You also change your habits at random times, but not as random as you might realize.”
“Really? I didn’t realize my change of habits could be tracked.”
“I’ve been reading a lot of books about spies, and assassins so I’m sure you do it out of habit. However you also have a set schedule on when to change those habits. You shake things up about once every three days, and as soon as I know your first two stops I can pretty well track most of your actions for the rest of the day.”
“Shit I’ve gotten sloppy.”
“Out of practice more likely.” Drake gave me another smile he had caught me out, and showed just how well he knew me. “Just remember my request, please give that to your girlfriend tonight. It may be the only time she finds out what we look like.”
“I don’t understand.”
“It’s nothing.” Drake snapped a salute and left the office.
Something about Drake’s demeanor had me wondering what had gotten into him. I decided to ask him about it later. I’d put the unit through it’s paces and get them ready for the games, though that was a laugh they were more than prepared but there was no reason not to ride them harder than usual.
When 1700 hours came round I headed out to the brothel making sure that I had the envelope. I almost had a skip when I got there. Soon Chelsea was going to be in my arms and I knew it was going to be a few hours of drug fueled bliss with no chemicals being dumped into my system. The only chemicals needed were the girl’s perfume and her pheromones, soon I’d be on Cloud Nine.
Chelsea was wearing a lounge singer dress, sparkly, red, and with a slit up to the hip on one side. I guess she had liked Who Framed Roger Rabbit. “I’m not bad. I’m just engineered this way.” Her voice was a near perfect impression of Jessica Rabbit’s.
“I guess you liked the movie then.”
“You know it.”
“Ehm.” Damn it Tallia was standing right behind me and had just broken the playful mood. I transferred the credits and took Chelsea to our usual room.
Once back there I she pulled me down into a kiss and I reached around and undid her slave jewelry. She moaned into my mouth and almost melted into me. “So much better than sex.” She gasped leaning into me, I could only smile.
“I can’t imagine sex being very good for you.”
“Occasionally it will be decent, but for the most part it sucks, very few people care about whether or not we enjoy it. Those that do can’t really make up for the rest, but they have absolutely nothing on you. And forget about soldiers they are the worst. I talk to the other my fellow Sex Toys about how you are the best lover I’ve ever had, but I refuse to go into details.”
“Thanks I don’t want one of your coworkers slipping up and telling someone.” I kissed her again causing her to pull at my shirt trying to pull me down on top of her. “No I can’t. You’re not free. Yet.”
“You are a tease. Wait, what do you mean yet?”
“Don’t worry about it.” I sat down next to her and handed her the envelope. “A present from the boys in my unit.”
“Oh? What is it? We never get presents. Am I ever going to get one from you?”
“You’re going to get a very big one soon. As for that one my Sergeant said that it was a picture they had all taken with me, and that they had all signed it. It’s a big thank you from the unit.”
“A thank you for what?”
“Truthfully I’m not sure.” I sat down on the bed next to her, picked her up, and sat her on my lap. “All I do know is that you have been amazing for me.”
“Maybe that’s what the thank you is for.” She snuggled against my chest and I could hear and feel a deep throated, rumble of a purr. It was a feeling of pure bliss that I didn’t want to stop. It would have to end soon enough, but for now all that mattered was that I held her.
“So what are we going to watch tonight?” she eventually asked.
“How about ‘The Princess Bride’?”
“Never heard of it of course.”
“You’ll like it’s got epic swashbuckling, magick, and all that true love nonsense you seem to go absolutely nuts over.”
“I would have thought the concept of true love was nonsense until I met you… Eep!”
“What was that?” I wasn’t sure what she meant, or if had it had just slipped out.
“Nothing, it’s nothing.”
“Did you just say you loved me?”
“I… I… No don’t be silly.” My eyes were sensitive enough to infrared that I could see her blush under the fur. “I… ah… I just meant that… well you know… that you must have truly loved Carol, not to, um… well err.” Oh dear had she ever more adorable than just now.
“Not to go all the way with you?” I prompted.
“Yeah, I guess that’s it.” She sat up a bit and looked at her feet and muttered, “Stupid, stupid, stupid,” to herself, obviously unaware that I could hear her. I decided not to tell her. I was too happy to know how she felt about me to scare her like that.
I put the vid card into the player and walked back to the bed as I started taking off my shirt. I was still unable to have sex with her for moral reasons. That said I could still enjoy the feeling of her bare fur against my naked chest. By the time I had turned around Chelsea had dropped her dress to the floor and kicked it away from her. Her panties were a match for the dress in color. “Custom order? Normally you wear black.”
She give me a devilishly, cutesy smile. “I told Tallia about the movie the two of us watched last week and she thought it would make a nice surprise for you if I dressed up like Jessica. So she ordered the dress and panties for me just for that reason.”
“I love the thought, but there is no way am I going to play Roger.”
“Don’t worry I like you just the way you are. Though you stay to conservatively clothed for my tastes.”
“Soon little lady, soon.”
“Really?” Her eyes flashed with excitement, and I was so looking forward to buying her and getting off the cursed rock. The sooner the better. I’d give her, her collar and a hammer so she could smash the fuck out of it as a wedding present. I already had a ring for her, it had meant to be for my true love, and had been passed down for centuries. I had been going to give it to Carol, but the longer I was with Chelsea the more I realized that she could accept me for things that Carol may have never understood.
There was no way Carol could have handled what I had done to that civilian, I couldn’t even tell her what I had done before the service. She had been beautiful and loving, there is no way she would have accepted me if she found out what kind of monster I was. She’d never have understood the torture I had inflicted upon people that had been partially for my own amusement. I don’t know how long I could have kept up with lying to her for the rest of our lives together.
Chelsea knew things about me and didn’t care. She knew I had already killed one civilian colonist for hurting her, and she had heard later the gory details of me burning his head of with a military collar. She had almost relished the details because the guy had been killed to protect her. She knew I would kill anyone who tried to hurt her, and that was what mattered to her. I was her Guardian Angel who would cause those who hurt her to drown in their own blood. I was not a pleasant person in the least and she accepted that.
She sat down on the bed and laid back against some cushions and patted her lap. “Come on soldier boy, you need a good cuddle.”
“That sounds like a lovely idea from a lovely lady.” I crawled up on to the bed and laid my head down on her lap. Her fur so soft that all but literally melted into it. I hit the play button. Half an hour into the movie she had cuddled her way into my arms. I wasn’t certain where I dozed off but when I woke up Chelsea was also asleep, and just like in my dream this morning I could feel her breathing. She was purring and adding that to her breathing made for a sensation that could only be faked with chemicals. There was no way I could let this end and not simply crash. I looked at the clock and saw that I only had about fifteen minutes left to hold her.
I wanted to have sex with her, my animalistic urges were battering away at my mind. As hard as the animal raged though my morality kept him chained. It was a battle that I in many ways I want my morality to take a fall. Still I couldn’t do it, she had no free will. She couldn’t turn me down and that was all that was needed to keep me from going one step further.
